Bishop Hunter is a graduate of Hood Theological Seminary. He also received a Master’s of Divinity degree from Hood Theological Seminary and a Master’s of Arts Degree, School of Communications, Howard University.



His pastorates include; Shaw Temple AME Zion Church, Smyrna, GA – 1992 – 2004; Goler Memorial AME Zion Church, Winston-Salem, NC -1990-1992; Big Wesley AME Zion Church, Philadelphia, PA – 1989 -1990; Lomax AME Zion Church, Arlington, VA – 1981 -1989; St. Mark AME Zion Church, Dallas, TX – 1978 -1981; Greater Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, Lincolnton, NC – 1976- 1979; Liberty AME Zion Church, Cooleemee, NC – 1975 -1976. Bishop Hunter was elected the 93rd bishop of the AME Zion Church at the 47th General Conference, 2004
